About Me

My name is Sami Budai, I'm a 22 year old graduate of Iowa State University where I earned my B.S. in Anthropology alongside my minor in Sustainability. I was born and raised in London, Ontario and have been playing tennis since the age of 4, where I was first introduced to the sport by my parents. They would take my sister and I to public courts around the city to hit the ball. I picked up the game quicker then most kids around my age and ever since my passion and love for the sport grew bigger.

During my time at Iowa State University I was consistently a key player, I began playing at the #2 position in singles my freshman year followed by the #1 spot for the remainder of my career, while playing  #1 doubles all throughout. I earned some of my greatest accomplishments during my years as a Cyclone where I leave behind a legacy.

Although, I have accomplished some great thing in my tennis career it was not an easy road leading there. I faced many challenges along the way but persevered, I'm the type of girl who loves to prove people wrong when I'm told "you can't" or "you won't". You can read my full story in "The Journey" tab.

My story, however, is not yet over just another chapter completed. I strongly believe my best tennis is yet to come. If given the opportunity to follow my dream and continue my passion with some financial assistance through sponsors and donations, I promise to put in the work needed and beyond to achieve my goal and reach my full potential. Yet, above all I aim to inspire others who share similar goals and have similar stories.
